NYPD Video from outside St. Patricks (5th Ave) Narated by Police Commisioner Edward Caban https://x.com/NYPDPC/status/1747429005026791642?s=20
In addition to holding the Rank of Chief of Department, upon retirement the Chief continued his life of service holding the titles of Commisioner Emergency Management and later Deputy Commisioner, Enforcement, NYC Buildings Department
The Long Island Shields regrets to inform you of the passing of Chief of Department Robert Esposito. Chief "Espo" as he was commonly called was, in my opinion , one of the most beloved COD in resent history. He was greatly respected by nearly every member of the department as well as the Mayors and Police Commissioners who he reported to. RIP
Our Guest Speaker on Sept 14th will be long time friend to LI Shields ad Author Stu Friedman: Stu is a highly decorated Detective Sergeant who worked in the NYC Transit Police and NYPD. He worked plainclothes, undercover, was a detective and detective supervisor in numerous units. In his 23 years of service, he was shot, stabbed and had broken bones. A bullet remains lodged in his chest to this day. At age 22, he was the youngest member of the department to ever receive the prestigious Police Combat Cross. He was also the recipient of the Medal for Valor on two occasions, in addition to other department awards and citations. In 1986 he was recognized as the Jewish Cop of the Year, received the Military Order of the Purple Heart Law Enforcement Citation, and the PBA Cop of the Month three times. The DEA has recognized him for his support and leadership of detectives and, most recently, by the Transit Police Black Patch Group for career accomplishments.
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Jack Beisel, has passed away on 08/06/23. He worked in 83 pct, retired Detective 104 Squad and Queens DAO. Jack was genuinely a great guy and will be missed more than words can express.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen. 🙏💙🙏.

Hi All,
Hope everyone had a great holiday! Wanted to shoot over a quick note about an event that I throw every year honoring a childhood friend who lost his life while serving in Iraq. This year marks the 18th year anniversary of this event in which we hold on behalf of SSG James McNaughton, a New York City police officer and Army Reservist who was KIA by sniper fire while guarding prisoners at a camp in Iraq.
The event itself is on Saturday afternoon, February 4th, 2023, at Mulcahy's Concert Hall in Wantagh, NY between 1pm – 7pm. The proceeds from the event are donated to multiple great charities including but not limited to the Wounded Warriors Project and the Northport P.T.S.D Veterans Association, among others. Our goal being to ensure that we keep Jimmy's memory alive, while honoring all of the fallen heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and raising awareness and support for veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, due to their military service.
Who this event is about: I’ve attached a PDF file here that speaks to the background on the life of Jimmy. However, you can just watch this 75 second video of a congressman speaking about the type of person Jimmy was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH3F0HnG3rw
What this event is: This is NOT the stereotypical charity event, but more of a celebration/party with entertainment including live bands, DJs, the USO and much more (see News12
coverage) There is a large raffle that includes hundreds of awesome prizes (trips, TVs, sports/concert tix, etc.). And of course there will be tons of drink specials and free food all day. We putatonofworkintothisandithasturnedintooneofthelargestannualeventsonLongIsland. For
th
anyone local on the Island or even in the city and don’t have any plans on February 4 , come on
down and I promise you’ll have a great time.
The venue, Mulcahy’s is easily accessible via the LIRR (Babylon Train Line) approx. 35 minute ride from Penn Station and is located right across the street from the rail.
